Jorge is an Emmy Award-winning freelance Journalist, Fixer and Producer. He is the main video correspondent for Reuters in Baja California and also freelances for Imagen Television, Estrella TV, Hoy Los Angeles, Sintesis TV and other networks. Jorge is bilingual (Spanish/English).
Through Jorge's special knowledge of the language, culture and physical area of Latin America he is sought after by foreign network as a Producer and Fixer. Jorge has worked with international media outlets from the USA, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Israel, South Africa, Italy, Japan, South Korea, China, Egypt, Russia, Denmark, Switzerland, Germany, France, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
Jorge was born in Mexico and predominantly works between Mexico, the USA and Central America specializing in the area of Human Rights and Migration. Jorge is married to an Australian citizen and has developed an interest in the Pacific region. Jorge also enjoys creating productions for tourism and commercial projects and has done so with commercial companies in Mexico, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
Jorge gained insight into journalism from a young age as a result of working as a teenager for his Father who was a Journalist and Director of a television network. Eventually, Jorge pathed his own way in his journalism career after completing a Bachelor of Communications and Social Science and began working for Sintesis TV of whom he worked for between 2003 to 2015. He started his career with Sintesis doing audio work, a year later working the cameras and writing notes. Jorge then went onto being a Reporter and TV Anchor.
Jorge’s went into freelance journalism for LA networks and became known for his journalism covering the issues of drug trafficking, narco’s, migration and human rights.
